The Sweet Escape featuring Akon

If I could escape I would but, first of all, let me say
I must apologize for acting stank and treating you this way
Cause I’ve been acting like sour milk all on the floor
It’s your fault you didn’t shut the refrigerator
Maybe that’s the reason I’ve been acting so cold?

If I could escape and recreate a place that’s my own world
And I could be your favorite girl (forever) perfectly together
Tell me boy now wouldn’t that be sweet? (sweet escape)
If I could be sweet
I know I’ve been a real bad girl (I’ll try to change)
I didn’t mean for you to get hurt (whatsoever) we can make it better
Tell me boy now wouldn’t that be sweet? (sweet escape)

Akon:
I want to get away to our sweet escape
I want to get away, yeah

You held me down, I’m at my lowest boiling point
Come help me out, I need to get me out of this joint
Come on let’s bounce, counting on you to turn me around
Instead of clowning around, lets look for some common ground
So baby, times get a little crazy, I’ve been gettin’ a little lazy
Waitin’ on you to come save me
I can see that your angry by the way that you treat me
Hopefully you don’t leave me, wanted you with me

If I could escape and recreate a place that’s my own world
And I could be your favorite girl (forever) perfectly together
And tell me boy now wouldn’t that be sweet? (sweet escape)
If I could be sweet (sorry boy)
I know I’ve been a real bad girl (I’ll try to change)
I didn’t mean for you to get hurt (whatsoever) we can make it better
And tell me boy now wouldn’t that be sweet? (sweet escape)

If I could escape
If I could escape
Cause I’ve been acting like sour milk all on the floor
It’s your fault you didn’t shut the refrigerator
Maybe that’s the reason I’ve been acting so cold

If I could escape and recreate a place that’s my own world
And I could be your favorite girl (forever) perfectly together
And tell me boy now wouldn’t that be sweet? (the sweet escape)
If I could be sweet

I know I’ve been a real bad girl (I’ll try to change)
I didn’t mean for you to get hurt (whatsoever) we can make it better
And tell me boy now wouldn’t that be sweet? (the sweet escape)

CD Cover of Natasha Bedingfield (April 16 UK Release) (US Release date August 2007 – guess will have to wait 5 months ,bummer!)

U.K. pop vocalist Natasha Bedingfield will return in August with her second Epic album, “N.B.” The set, which is due next week internationally, is led by first single “I Wanna Have Your Babies.” That cut debuted (April 8) at No. 25 on the U.K. singles chart.Among the contributors to the new album are producer Mike Elizondo, Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine (on “Say It Again”), rapper Eve (on “No More What Ifs”) songwriter Danielle Brisebois (“When You Know, You Know”) and producers such as Nate “Danja” Hills (“Not Giving Up”).“A lot of what I wrote about on this album is relationships,” Bedingfield tells Billboard.com. “Having gone away from home for a year-and-a-half and been independent and on the road, I really just value relationships. That gave me a lot of ammo to write with.”The artist describes “Soulmate,” which was written and demoed in a single afternoon, as “probably the most universal song on the album. I tried later to re-record it and sing it again, but nothing was as good as that first day.”Another cut, “Smell the Roses,” dates back to sessions for Bedingfield’s 2004 smash debut, “Unwritten.” She says, “We quit writing it halfway through, because we wanted to write something more upbeat. Two or three years later, we were listening to some stuff, and we realized, this is a gem that we just forgot about.”Bedingfield will hit the road for an extensive tour beginning in September. “I’ve done so much gigging in the past couple of years,” she says. “That has really added a live feel to my music. I’ve got a lot more live instruments and my voice has changed a bit.”

DAUGHTRY’ ONCE AGAIN LOCKS DOWN #1 SPOT ON BILLBOARD TOP 200

March 17, 2007

grouparmscrossedfullmain.jpg

The fastest selling rock debut in Soundscan history, DAUGHTRY, has become the #1 top selling album in the country for the second time this year, in an incredible 15 week run that has seen the debut artist, album and single – “It’s Not Over” – shatter so many records that the milestones are becoming too numerous to list. Debuting at #2 on November 21, 2006, the double-platinum album (certified this week by the RIAA) has been in the top 3 of the Billboard Top 200 albums chart for an amazing 9 weeks. It is the first album since the 2006 phenomenon High School Musical soundtrack to accomplish such a feat, and the first rock band to achieve a streak of that magnitude in the first 15 weeks of release since Creed in 2002. DAUGHTRY has remained in the Top 10 every week except one since launch, and is the first rock band release in nearly 20 years – since Bon Jovi’s 1988 classic New Jersey – to hit the top spot after debuting below #1 and the first rock band to hit the #1 spot a second time more than 5 weeks after it first topped the chart without debuting there since Santana’s “Supernatural” in 2000.

Such amazing accomplishments are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to gauging the impact of DAUGHTRY’s indelible lock on virtually every platform of the music scene: The band and album are pulling in superstar-brand page view numbers in the digital domain; drawing over one million views per week to their artist site www.daughtryoffical.com <http://www.daughtryofficial.com/> and remaining a Top 10 staple on itunes since release. The debut single “Its Not Over,” has conquered all digital, mobile, radio and video platforms, parking at the top or near the top of every major music industry metric including: #1 on the Adult Top 40 chart, Hot AC chart, and is destined to score as the #1 heir apparent on the Top 40 singles chart in a couple of weeks as it jumps to #3 this week as one of the biggest airplay and sales gainers with another 2 million new listeners. “It’s Not Over “has now sold over 800K tracks and has been in the Top 10 of the Digital Songs Chart for the last 7 weeks.
